Description:
IFC, through its Treasury CapitalMarkets Advisory Unit (CTMCA), intends to engage an experienced financialeducation and training firm specializing in professional development for thefinancial services industry (the “Consultant”) to support the IFC/World Bank Group Treasury Derivatives Advisory Program-s (DAP) capacity buildingefforts, including in person capacity building sessions. The capacity-building sessions will bring together regulators, centralbankers, and private sector market participants for in-person, in-countryworkshops covering key aspects of the derivatives market. Virtual workshops may also beconsidered on a case-by-case basis. Thesetraining activities are aimed to support the DAP, which seeks to (i) expandaccess to long-term local currency financing and (ii) foster the development ofdomestic capital markets through the introduction of derivatives markets and productsin selected countries.The Consultant will support CTMCA staff in providing technical capacity building to regulators, the banking sector, and other market participants during the following program implementation phases:· Phase I: Strengthening of the legal/regulatory framework and capacity for derivatives in selected jurisdictions; and· Phase II: Improving the trading and risk management capacity of local financial institutions,particularly banks.
