The tourism industry plays a pivotal role in shaping Cambodia's socio-economic landscape and fostering its overall development. As a nation blessed with rich cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and a vibrant history, Cambodia has emerged as a sought-after destination for travelers worldwide. The tourism sector not only contributes significantly to the country's GDP but also acts as a catalyst for job creation, infrastructure development, and cultural preservation.The tourism industry is diverse and multifaceted and encompasses several traditional sectors, reflecting its wide-ranging impact on the economy. The industry intersects with various economic activities defined in ISIC Rev.4 (see Annex I and this link), including accommodation and food service activities, transportation and storage, travel agency and tour operator services, arts, entertainment, and recreation, retail trade and more. For this reason, a detailed accounting of the number of establishments and workers from the Economic Census of Cambodia and the Labour Force Survey is not yet available.
