Description : BACKGROUND
WHO has been supporting countries in strengthening its malaria diagnosis capacity including through review and update of national QA system for malaria microscopy, training and assessment of malaria microscopists and assessment of malaria laboratories through panel testing.
In 2018, a new operational manual for the quality assurance of malaria diagnosis has been developed by Cambodia`s National Center for Parasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control (CNM) with support from WHO. The operational manual outlines how Cambodia will organize a network of malaria laboratories for prompt and accurate diagnosis of malaria either through microscopy or malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDT).
